HOLDFAST is the cognitive networking and resilient-message-delivery layer within the Resolvix AURM Platform. It preserves critical command, telemetry, custody and mission-evidence traffic over degraded bearers — and publishes the network-state and uncertainty evidence that VERITY uses to assess whether delivered messages remain trustworthy.
HOLDFAST works above or alongside existing radios, waveforms, SDRs and mesh bearers — adding the cognitive networking and continuity layer that keeps critical messages moving when conditions degrade.

HOLDFAST orchestrates above the SDR.
HOLDFAST integrates with the SDR — either within its software stack or through authorised control interfaces — to provide the cognitive control and orchestration layer above the radio and waveform functions.
Through authorised integrations, HOLDFAST can monitor bearer conditions, prioritise critical mission traffic, select between available communications paths and request bounded changes to bearer, routing, custody, queue and traffic policy as conditions evolve.

Technical integration states
HOLDFAST Adapt produces bounded policy candidates. Whether those candidates result in behaviour change depends on the validated integration. Each integration declares Adapt as one of three states:
- Telemetry-onlyAdapt observes and reports bearer and network evidence without requesting changes.
- AdvisoryAdapt produces bounded policy candidates for review by an authorised operator or system.
- ActiveAdapt requests bounded communications-policy changes through authorised interfaces. Only an explicitly active, validated integration may be credited with behaviour change.
HOLDFAST Adapt is designed for edge-deployed operation — it functions without persistent C2 connectivity, maintaining bounded adaptation across degraded and intermittent bearers.
Designed to work above the radio.
HOLDFAST is designed to sit above the SDR, radio, or mesh bearer — adding cognitive networking and continuity capability without touching the waveform, encryption, or physical layer. The radio stack continues operating as before.
Integration is designed to run through a future versioned platform-adapter interface — HOLDFAST observing bearer state and applying Adapt behaviour through an adapter to the network-status interfaces existing C4I software already exposes. Adding that adapter and its configuration is a bounded change, not a drop-in.
Candidate integration pattern — not yet implemented or validated
Read-only access to network telemetry via an adapter. HOLDFAST observes bearer state and produces evidence without taking network actions — the lowest-friction designed evaluation posture.
HOLDFAST Adapt produces bearer recommendations that a human operator or existing C2 system acts on. No automated network changes.
HOLDFAST Adapt takes bounded adaptive actions — relay selection, bearer switching — through a defined adapter control interface. Requires adapter access to the radio or mesh system.
HOLDFAST preserves message continuity and publishes communications evidence. VERITY assesses whether the delivered message and mission context remain trustworthy.
HOLDFAST produces continuity and network-state evidence, and SENTRY produces receiver-visible consistency and uncertainty evidence, under degraded conditions. VERITY consumes that evidence alongside PNT, sensing, telemetry, custody and autonomy-state signals to assess whether a delivered message and the broader mission context remain coherent enough for authorised review.
